Overview

Flight Instructor course opens the opportunity for experienced pilots to deepen their skills, reach new heights and gives the possibility to work as a flight instructor. After some years of the first flight training, candidates can join the flight instructor course which will help to reach a new level. After this course you can become the teacher, the flight instructor who trains pilots from the beginner level.

Course description

Flight instructor course consist of two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part flight instructor candidates learn instructional techniques and the way of teaching. Flight instructor trainees also hold a sufficient amount of theory teaching and briefing under supervision to the students. In the practical part there are 30 hours and 30 minutes of flying training. During the practical part, candidates will learn various flying practices that are requried for flight instructors such as airspace exercises, traffic pattern or cross country flights - from the right seat of the aircraft. In the end of the course, there is a practical exam. Completing the flight instructor course takes around 5 weeks.

Prerequisites

  • Age more than 18

  • ICAO Aviation English minimum Level 4 OR Hungarian Level 4 with any proof to understand English

  • 10 hours of instrument flight on SEP (Basic IR), max 5 hours on FSTD

  • Minimum of 20 hours PIC VFR cross-country flight

  • Minimum of 30 hours SEP time, last 5 hours in the preceding 6 months

  • Minimum of 300 NM PIC VFR cross-country route with 2 full stop landings in different airfields

  • Valid SEP Rating

  • 1 hour long pre-entry flight test

  • With valid EASA PPL license

    • Valid EASA medical class 2 with “IR Checked” or higher

    • Minimum of 200 hours total time on airplanes

    • Minimum of 150 hours PIC time on airplanes

    • Completed CPL theory to instruct other than LAPL

  • With valid EASA CPL license

    • Valid EASA medical class 1
