MEP IR

Overview

Multi Engine Instrument Rating course is a full, integrated like Instrument Rating training completed on a simulator training device and multi engine aircraft. It combines the advantages of the Single Engine Instrument Rating and Multi Engine Instrument Rating Upgrade courses. Completing this training not only teaches you about the instrument procedures, like precision and non-precision approaches, holdings, standard instrument departures and arrivals, etc, but will train you deeply in an environment which is a gateway to commercial aviation.

Course description

If you are planning to complete this training there is no need to do any Single Engine Instrument Rating, but it is a requirement to finish the Multi Engine Class Rating before and you should hold an IR, CPL or ATPL theory certificate. During this practical course there are 40 hours which are completed on a flight simulator and another 15 hours on a multi engine aircraft. Completing this course not just teaches you for the instrument flying procedures, but it gives you a full airline orientation gained in a training environment with flight simulator and a complex multi engine aircraft. In the course you will encounter specific IFR situations which cannot be trained in real aircraft but can be simulated with a flight simulator. In the end, students will acquire deeper skills and will be able to solve all the instrument flying challenges they may encounter during an airline interview. Similarly to the other instrument courses, there is a 2 hours long exam flight which is right after the course. The duration of the MEP IR course is around 60 days.
